'Shillong Police Bazar | Bangladeshi Food | Hotels | Restaurants #shillong #bangladeshifood #shillongstreetfood We thought of sharing with you some of the footages we captured while we were on a holiday to some of the most beautiful place in India. Guwahati, Shillong,Mawlong, Dawki, Cherapunji are the places we are talking about. As we were on a holiday mood, we could not capture many videos of food in and around Shillong,Meghalaya, but some of natures scenic beauty is what we could not stop ourselves from recording and thought why not share with you all. Separating the Assam valley from the plains of Bangladesh, hilly Meghalaya is the ‘abode of clouds’ – It is a cool pine-fresh mountain state; set on dramatic horseshoes of rocky cliffs. Cherrapunjee and Mawsynram are the wettest places on the Earth; this state has created impressive waterfalls, beautiful landscapes and carving out some of Asia’s longest caves. Shillong is also known as the Scotland of the east. We did explore the local food, and we found that it is very similar to that of bengali cuisine. Rice, lentils, vegetable curries, chicken;mutton;fish curry are very common in all the restaurants. While the Khasi cuisine is something different and unique\' the staple food of the Khasi community is mostly spicy and there is a lot usage of pork, beef, and lamb meat. We tried out some of Shillong\'s local food like Jadoh,Tungrymbai; served with tossed chicken liver, and pickled bamboo shoots, and it was just awesome. The Police Bazar is the hub of street shopping and street food in Shillong. One of the street food that we recorded was attractive, The street food seller was selling barbequed pork and chicken. The meat was pre marinated with local spices and herbs and was also precooked to make it soft and tender. The charcoal fire was adding on a smoky flavour to the pork meat. Besides Pork, there was also chicken which was a hot favourite among the localites and this place was also crowded by the tourists like us. These preparations are only found in the local street shops. The barbeque chicken had a special recipe which the guy did not want to share with us. It tasted not exactly like tandoori chicken, but somewhere in between a continental preparation of grilled chicken blended with mild tangy flavour of yoghurt, also had flavour of thyme and rosemary.
